- Aetna was recognized as one the country's most innovative users of business technology in the 2016 InformationWeek Elite 100, ranking #85. In 2013, Aetna ranked # 52 on InformationWeek's list of the 500 leading technology innovators, and first among health insurers. Aetna was also named to the InformationWeek 500 lists in 2012, 2011, and 2010.
- Aetna received CSO Magazine’s 2016 CSO50 Award for its solution that allows customers and regulators real-time access to security artifacts, providing insight on security capabilities.
- In 2016, Aetna was named Tech Exec Networks (T.E.N.) Information Security Executive (ISE®) Central Project of the Year finalist for being the first in the industry to implement a solution that addresses common regulatory compliance questions in an audit data vault, offering a single checkpoint for multiple assessors.
- In 2015, Aetna was also a recipient of the CSO50 Award for being a leader in the industry in implementing a Trusted Email Program, driving removal of fraudulent emails that appear to be coming from Aetna.
- For the 5th consecutive year, Aetna in 2015 received a ClearMark Award from the Center for Plain Language. This year’s award was received for Aetna’s Consumer Tumblr Blog.
- Aetna was named a winner in the 2015 IBM Mainframe Mobile App Throwdown competition for developing an app to help nurses who conduct home visits easily manage their patient’s medication. Aetna was also a winner in the 2014 competition for an app that allows 24/7 support of various processing environments from any device.
- In 2015, Aetna was named a winner for Best Multilingual Support Center in the ICMI Global Contact Center awards, the most comprehensive awards program dedicated to the customer management industry. In addition, Aetna was named a co-finalist in the Best Use of Technology category.
