Why Aetna® Labor?
Labor is the backbone of our country. Here’s how we support you.
Collaboration to contain costs
We work with third-party administrators to bring you deep discounts, clear reporting and care management.
Colleagues dedicated to labor
Over 1,300 Aetna colleagues work solely for labor, state and local government. We’re ready to meet your unique needs.
A full range of coverage options
You get one stop for coverage — from medical to dental to retiree and beyond — from one national benefits carrier.
Local care that’s personalized
Your members have the comfort of knowing local care is there when they need it, in their own communities.
Programs just for labor funds
Help from someone whose walked in their shoes
Essential workers are critical to our health and safety. But they may put their own mental health needs on hold. We created the Essential Worker Peer Support Program for the unique needs of building trades, transit and health care workers. They get a direct line to trusted peers who understand what they’re going through and can help them on their path to better health.
Features include:
24/7 confidential helpline
This line is staffed by active and retired essential workers. It offers a path toward therapy for those who fear being labeled or who might not otherwise seek help.
Confidential therapy referrals
Members get support in the moment and referrals to network clinicians who have experience working with essential workers.
Face-to-face engagement
Retired essential workers promote programs directly to members to create a connection between the program and local resources.
Mobile app and online resources
Essential workers can access content created just for them and their families — on their own time, in a safe place.
Continuing education
Other resources are available, including live and on-demand training, clinical self-assessment and self-help tools, and outreach communications.
Working together for easier administration
Our joint claims administration program supports Taft-Hartley labor clients who self-administer their medical benefits or partner with a third-party administrator. You handle the key services members expect. And we lend our managed care expertise in areas like:
- Claims intake, pricing and editing
- Network management and provider services
- Provider payment and remittance
- Care management and reporting
Plans to keep your labor fund strong
You get a menu of affordable plan designs to protect your members’ health. Choose from:
Medical insurance plans
like performance networks and network-only and option plan designs
Ancillary options
like pharmacy, vision, dental, and behavioral health, for a total approach to wellness
Voluntary coverage
