Medicare Advantage (MA) plans

What are they?

  • Medicare Advantage plans are Part C plans. There are also Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage (MAPD). These are Part C and Part D plans.
  • They’re an alternative to Original Medicare — these are HMO, HMO-POS or PPO plans.

What do they cover?

Stand-alone prescription drug plan (PDP)

What is it?

  • A stand-alone PDP is a Part D plan.
  • It’s designed for people who are enrolled in Original Medicare or a Medicare Supplement plan.

What does it cover?

  • It helps cover prescription drug costs.
  • All The SilverScript® Choice PDP from Aetna Medicare is offered in 49 states* and Washington, D.C.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans (Medigap)

What are they?

  • These plans work alongside your Original Medicare coverage.

What do they cover?

  • They help pay some costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover, such as copayments, coinsurance and deductibles.
  • They let you add a prescription drug plan.
