If you’re not covered by other insurance and you miss your Medicare Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), you may have to pay enrollment penalties.

 

If you’re still covered by employer or other insurance after your Medicare Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), you may choose to enroll in Medicare when your other coverage ends.
