The Aetna Medicare Extra Benefits Card may be offered on Aetna Medicare plans. The card has one or more “wallets” that include a benefit amount (allowance) to help cover certain everyday expenses. For example, if your plan includes an Over-the-Counter (OTC) Wallet, you can buy things like approved OTC health and wellness products. Where can I use the Extra Benefits Card?
The Extra Benefits Card can be used either in store, over the phone or online. But the exact stores vary depending on the wallets your card has access to.
The OTC Wallet—Your card can be used in store at participating retail locations, including CVS® retail stores (excluding ones inside other stores). It can also be used online at CVS.com/Aetna or by phone at 1-844-428-8147 ${tty}.
The CVS OTC Wallet—Your card can be used in store at CVS retail locations (excluding ones inside other stores). It can also be used online at CVS.com/Aetna or by phone at 1-844-428-8147 ${tty}.
The Medical Expense Wallet—You can use your card at health care providers’ offices to pay for plan-covered services.
The Extra Supports Wallet—Your card can be used in store at participating retail locations, including CVS retail stores (excluding ones inside other stores) to purchase approved OTC products, healthy foods and personal care products. It can also be used online at CVS.com/Aetna or by phone at 1-844-428-8147 ${tty}. You can also use it for certain utilities bills or to pay for public transportation or a rideshare service.
Who qualifies for it?
You can get an Extra Benefits Card if you have an Aetna Medicare Advantage plan that offers it. But not all plans include the card. You can check the annual notice of change (ANOC) for your plan to find out if it includes an Extra Benefits Card. You can also get the Extra Benefits Card if you have an Aetna Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP).
