Members can use the Aetna Medicare Extra Benefits Card to help pay for certain everyday expenses, such as over-the-counter (OTC) products. You may get one if you have a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) or a Chronic Condition Special Needs Plan (C-SNP).
If you have one of these plans, you can log in to your member portal to check if your plan includes an Extra Benefits Card.
What you can use your card for depends on the “wallets” offered on your plan. Aetna plans can offer an Extra Supports Wallet, CVS® OTC Wallet and/or OTC Wallet. If you have an Extra Benefits Card, you can log in to your member portal to check which wallets it has access to.
Each wallet includes a benefit amount (allowance) that you can spend on approved products and services:
- The CVS OTC Wallet or OTC Wallet can only be used to purchase approved OTC products.
- The Extra Supports Wallet can be used on approved healthy foods, personal care products, OTC products, utilities, and transportation.
Every member who has an Extra Benefits Card should understand how to use it, especially if you just got one. Learn more about the Extra Benefits Card is.
