Hi. I'm world-champion gymnast Shannon Miller, and I'm here to show you today's Attain Games challenge, Work Out an Appetite.
While you're in the kitchen, you can squeeze in some exercise while you're waiting for things to cook or just in between prepping your meal. I'm making my go-to dinner, grilled chicken with pasta and my kids' favorite, power-packed peas. But I know that we can multitask, so let's get started.
First up is the chair squat. Keep your chest up, arms out straight, and squat as if you're sitting back in a chair. Slow and steady, feel the burn, just don't let the chicken burn. So, let's check on that.
Alright, we're looking good there, so let's move on to the next exercise, which is heel raises. So grab something steady, raise your heels, and you want to keep that core nice and tight. Try to pull your belly button to your spine and keep that posture up.
After that, we're going to go on to the counter push-up. So find a stable counter, preferably not near the stove, and you're going to do your push-ups. Again, slow and steady.
Next up, we're going to get our heart rate going. Lift those knees high, and you're gonna run in place.
Now, this circuit is best if you can do 30 seconds per move and do that three to five times, depending on how long your dinner takes. And the best part of this workout is I'll have a great meal waiting for me at the end.
Okay, now it's your turn, and don't forget to share videos of your kitchen workouts on social with #AttainGames. Now set that kitchen timer and get started.
