About our Aetna® Medicare pharmacy network

Finding the right pharmacy for you is important. Read on to learn about the Aetna pharmacy network.

  • A network pharmacy has a contract with our plan. They provide prescription drugs at a price negotiated by Aetna. Then, your plan uses that price to help decide how much you pay. Most of the time, your medicine is covered only if you get it:

CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy is not available in Arkansas.

Can’t get to a network pharmacy? Check your Evidence of Coverage for help. Look for the section called “Using a pharmacy that's not in our plan’s network.”

  • Search online

You can search our list of network pharmacies online. And you can print the list of pharmacies you want to keep.

Have a pharmacy directory mailed to you

If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you can fill out this form to request a printed copy of the provider and pharmacy directories for your plan. It lists all the pharmacies that are in your network. You should get it by mail in 7 to 10 days after we process your request.

If you have a stand-alone Medicare Part D plan, you can sign in to request your printed pharmacy directory.

    Call us

You can also call and ask us to send you a printed list of all nearby pharmacies. It can take up to 10 days to get to you once we get your request. Or an agent can help you find a pharmacy while you’re on the phone.

Tip: We update our online pharmacy list every two weeks. It has the latest details on our pharmacy network.

  • Some plans have both a standard and a preferred network of pharmacies. You may pay a lower out-of-pocket cost at a preferred network pharmacy than at a standard network pharmacy.

Not all plans have a preferred pharmacy network. Check your Evidence of Coverage (EOC) to see if your plan does.

Our online pharmacy list has all the pharmacies in our network. Want to find a preferred pharmacy? These are marked with a purple tag. Standard pharmacies are marked with a grey tag.

  • In some areas, the Aetna Medicare pharmacy network includes limited lower cost preferred pharmacies. Learn more about these limits.

  • CVS Caremark® Mail Service Pharmacy is our network mail order pharmacy. Using mail order may help you save time and money.

    With mail order, you get:

    • Medications sent to your home or another place you choose
    • Standard shipping at no added cost to you
    • Automatic refills

Tip: Mail order is for certain medicines you take regularly, for a chronic or long-term condition. We also call these “maintenance” drugs.

Your mail order drugs should arrive within 10 days of us getting your order. If you don’t get them by then, call the number on your Aetna member ID card.

Learn more about CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy

CVS Caremark Mail Service Pharmacy is not available in Arkansas.

  • Some pharmacies have a special role. They may provide limited access drugs or home infusion drugs. Or they may be a long-term care pharmacy.

You pay the standard cost share at a long-term care or home infusion pharmacy. (Your cost share is your copay or coinsurance.)

    For home‐infusion pharmacies

Aetna Medicare will cover infusion therapy drugs if both of these are true:

    • Your plan has approved your prescription drug for home infusion therapy.
    • You got your prescription from someone who is authorized.

    For long‐term care pharmacies:

If you live in a long‐term care facility (place), you can get covered drugs from:

    • The facility’s long‐term care pharmacy
    • Another network long‐term care pharmacy

Tip: The total cost of drugs shown for some pharmacies on our website or on Medicare Plan Finder might be different for you if you’re in long-term care.

Want to know more about home infusion or long-term care pharmacies? You can call us at the number on your Aetna member ID card. We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Only Native Americans and Alaska Natives can use I/T/U pharmacies through our plan’s pharmacy network. Other members may be able to use them in an emergency.

For more information on these pharmacies, call the number on your Aetna member ID card. We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also search our list of network pharmacies online.
