Medicare Advantage (MA) plans
What are they?
- Medicare Advantage plans are Part C plans. There are also Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage (MAPD). These are Part C and Part D plans.
- They’re an alternative to Original Medicare — these are HMO, HMO-POS or PPO plans.
What do they cover?
- These plans cover your medical and hospital care. And they cover some added benefits. Not all plans have the same benefits.
- They may cover benefits, like:
- Home-delivered meals after a qualifying inpatient hospital or skilled nursing facility stay
- Dental, vision and hearing care
- Over-the-counter (OTC) products
- Fitness benefits
- An Extra Benefits Card to help with certain everyday expenses
Stand-alone prescription drug plan (PDP)
What is it?
- A stand-alone PDP is a Part D plan.
- It’s designed for people who are enrolled in Original Medicare or a Medicare Supplement plan.
What does it cover?
- It helps cover prescription drug costs.
- All The SilverScript® Choice PDP from Aetna Medicare is offered in 49 states* and Washington, D.C.
- It covers Tier 1 drugs for no more than a $2 copay* at all network pharmacies.
- It covers Tier 1 drugs for no more than a $2 copay* at all network pharmacies.
Once you have a Part D plan, you may qualify for Medicare Extra Help. If so, it can lower your monthly plan premium and copays. Find out if you qualify for Extra Help.
Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans (Medigap)
Aetna Medigap plans work alongside your Original Medicare coverage. They help pay some costs that Original Medicare doesn't cover. If you have a Medigap plan, you can add a prescription drug plan (PDP).
