Get started with telemedicine

With telemedicine, you can meet with a doctor by phone or video chat while protecting yourself and others. Many services are now covered, including routine and urgent medical care, mental health support, teledentistry, and physical, speech, and occupational therapy.

Confirm your coverage

We’re offering $0 copay* for mental health visits through December 31, 2020. All other telemedicine visits will continue to be covered at the same copay as an in-person visit, and the copay amount will be applied toward your deductible as usual.**

To confirm your telemedicine coverage, just log in to your Aetna® member website. If you are a Medicaid member or if you are covered by one of our partners (Banner|Aetna, Sutter Health|Aetna, Texas Health|Aetna, Innovation Health, or Allina Health|Aetna), please refer to your specific plan benefits. You can also call the number on your ID card.

Ways to get support

Call your primary care physician

Call your doctor to see if they’re participating in telemedicine or if they think you should visit the office for any chronic health needs. Since they already know your medical history, they’re a great first option. Even if your plan doesn’t offer telemedicine coverage, you may be covered for a virtual visit with your doctor.*

Use Teladoc® telehealth services

If your doctor isn’t available and you need care right away, or if it’s after hours or a weekend, you can meet with a Teladoc doctor by phone or video, and with mental health professionals by video. You can access Teladoc through the Aetna HealthSM app.

Find telemedicine providers by state

If your doctor is not offering telemedicine, or if you’re just looking for more options, you can search for other providers in your state.*

Call your primary care physician (PCP)

Many doctors are treating patients through virtual care, such as over the phone and with live videoconferencing. Call your PCP to see if they offer telemedicine/telehealth. Since they already know your medical history, they’re a great first choice.

Use Teladoc® services

We’ve temporarily made Teladoc available at no extra cost to all our Medicare Advantage members. But we encourage you to seek virtual care from your own doctor when possible to maintain care continuity.

To access Teladoc, just call 1-855-TELADOC (1-855-835-2362). Or visit Member.Teladoc.com/aetna for help. Teledoc is available 24/7.
