Get started with telemedicine

With telemedicine, you can meet with a doctor by phone or video chat while protecting yourself and others. Many services are available, including routine and urgent medical care, mental health support, teledentistry, and physical, speech, and occupational therapy.

Confirm your coverage

To confirm your telemedicine coverage, just log in to your  Aetna® member website. If you are a Medicaid member or if you are covered by one of our partners (Banner | Aetna, Sutter Health | Aetna, Texas Health | Aetna, Innovation Health, or Allina Health | Aetna), please refer to your specific plan benefits. You can also call the number on your ID card.

Ways to get support

Call your primary care physician

Call your doctor to see if they’re participating in telemedicine or if they think you should visit the office for any chronic health needs. Since they already know your medical history, they’re a great first option. Even if your plan doesn’t offer telemedicine coverage, you may be covered for a virtual visit with your doctor.*

Use Teladoc® telehealth services

If your doctor isn’t available and you need care right away, or if it’s after hours or a weekend, you can meet with a Teladoc doctor by phone or video, and with mental health professionals by video. You can access Teladoc through the Aetna Health app.*

Find telemedicine providers by state

If your doctor is not offering telemedicine, or if you’re just looking for more options, you can search for other providers in your state.*

Ways to get support

Primary care visits at no extra cost

Now through January 31, 2021, we’re waiving out-of-pocket costs for all in-network primary care visits, regardless of the reason. This includes both in-office visits as well as telehealth.

Your primary care physician already knows your medical history, so they’re a great first choice for care. If you still prefer not to visit the office in person, call to see if they offer telemedicine/telehealth

Specialist telehealth visits at no extra cost

You’ll have a $0 copay* for specialist telehealth visits, including mental health counseling, until January 31, 2021.

We will waive costs for mental health visits through:

  • In-network providers who deliver virtual care, such as over-the-phone care and live video conferencing
  • Other virtual care apps or services that are part of your plan

Use Teladoc® services

We’ve temporarily made Teladoc available at no extra cost to all our Medicare Advantage members. But we encourage you to seek virtual care from your own doctor when possible to maintain care continuity.

You can access Teladoc through the Aetna Health app or by calling 1-855-TELADOC (1-855-835-2362) (TTY: 711). You can also visit Teladoc for help. Teledoc is available 24/7.

Find providers for your state

If your doctor doesn’t offer telemedicine, or you’re just looking for more options, you can find other providers who offer virtual care in your state.*
