Oncology Quality Program Participant

Oncologists with this designation have agreed to participate in one or more cancer specific quality improvement programs. They will report to Aetna their performance on one or more of these patient centric activities: following evidence-based clinical pathways; providing individualized treatment plans based on the best clinical evidence about treatments that are most effective and providing the cancer care educational tools and urgent appointment access of Aetna's oncology medical home; a designation by the American Society of Clinical Oncology as meeting Quality Oncology Practice Improvement status; or designation by the Commission on Cancer as meeting their Oncology Medical Home status. Some practices will have more than one of the above quality designations, and all have taken extra time and effort to better serve patients on their cancer journey.
