This CPB has been revised to state that the measurement of procalcitonin (PCT) is considered experimental, investigational, or unproven for the following: (i) as a biomarker of initial antibiotic effectiveness prediction in individuals with febrile neutropenia; (ii) diagnosis and monitoring of infections following cervical cerclage; and (iii) prediction of mortality in individuals with alcoholic liver cirrhosis and acute on chronic liver failure.
