Medical - Personal Health Record

Helping you get a complete picture of your patients' health
Have you ever wished you had a more comprehensive picture of your patients' personal health history - information that can help you make more informed decisions about their treatment plan? Aetna can help.

Through our Personal Health Record, we're making it easier for patients to keep track of and share their important health information with you, allowing you to better coordinate their care. The Personal Health Record also enables members to be more actively involved in their health.

Providers whom we surveyed said they believe the Personal Health Record would improve the accuracy and completeness of patient information, consolidate medical records into one place, and enable multiple physicians to coordinate a patient's care, resulting in fewer medical mistakes and improved patient safety.

Most providers said they are highly likely to encourage patients to bring a copy of the Personal Health Record to the next office visit. We hope you encourage your Aetna patients to do so as well.

Resources for you on Aetna's Education Site for Health Care Professionals
We invite you to view the sample Personal Health Record under "Reference Tools" on our Education Site for Health Care Professionals (available via our secure provider website) and encourage your patients to update and share their Personal Health Record with you.
