Aetna to Offer Individual Products to the National Association for the Self Employed

HARTFORD, Conn., September 29, 2011 — Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced today that it would begin offering Aetna Advantage Plans for Individuals and Families to the more than 200,000 members of the National Association for the Self Employed (NASE). The Aetna plans would be made available to NASE members through NaseCare, an organization that is committed to providing high quality and affordable healthcare options to individuals, families, self-employed, and small business owners. “We are excited to work with organizations such as NASE and NaseCare, who provide important benefits to the self-employed,” said Barb DeMaio, head of Aetna’s Individual business. “Our agreement will allow us to provide hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs and their families across the country access to Aetna’s plans and industry-leading consumer tools.” “NaseCare offers NASE members access to top tier health, life, and dental insurance products,” said Chuck Taggart, President of NaseCare. “We are pleased to add Aetna’s individual plans to our product portfolio and give NASE members several more high-quality health insurance options.” Product Options NASE members can find more information on the plan options and other resources available to Aetna members through the co-branded website developed by Aetna and NaseCare. Aside from the different plan choices, Aetna will also offer a number of value-added options such as a Member Assistance Program (MAP) and Concierge Services, which can both help individuals better manage work and life issues. These types of services are typically only offered to Aetna's larger customers. In addition, NASE members will receive a 20 percent discount on Vital Savings by Aetna® discount cards for Dental services.
