NEW YORK, N.Y.,October 30, 2008 — Aetna's (NYSE: AET) Miguel Centeno, vice president of Strategic Market Development, will receive the "LISTA 2008 Corporate Citizen Award" from the Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association, (LISTA).

LISTA's "Corporate Citizen Award" is one of a series of awards that are presented to individuals and organizations that have not only contributed to the Hispanic community, but have supported LISTA's mission to help the Latino American community attain opportunities that educate, empower and motivate.

"It's a great honor for our organization to award Latino professionals in corporate America and stimulate the ones who have proven their serious commitment to Latinos in the U.S.," said José Marquez-Leon," LISTA's president/CEO. "I have worked with Miguel for many years and he has shown time and time again to LISTA and other organizations that he understands our needs. His commitment is unwavering and for that he and Aetna should be commended."

The award will be presented on Oct. 30 in Miami, Florida, at the LISTA National Technology Achievers Awards Gala, which is held at the close of the LISTA Annual Emerging Technology Leaders Summit and National Technology Achievers Awards Summit.

"I am pleased and honored to be recognized by our valued partner, LISTA.  LISTA is truly working tirelessly to eliminate the digital divide in the Latino community, to bring about greater diversity in corporate America, and to make the community healthier.  I look forward to a continued long-term, mutually beneficial partnership with LISTA," Centeno said.

Aetna, as a corporate sponsor of LISTA, sponsors events which bring information to LISTA members and provides health related content to the organization which then gets disseminated to members via newsletters.

Centeno was among three other Latino corporate leaders who were recognized as crucial members to the organizations in 2008.  Jose A. Marquez-Leon, president and CEO of LISTA, said it was Centeno's support in 2008 and his many years of community activism and commitment to excellence that won him this award.

Centeno joined Aetna in 2007 as vice president of Strategic Market Development.  In his role as head of Strategic Market Development, he is responsible for leading Aetna's efforts in the Northeast Region to better serve the needs of Targeted Growth Market small business owners, which are those owned by Hispanics, African-Americans, Asian-Americans, women and gays/lesbians/bisexuals and transgenders.  His initial area of focus is New York City.  With partnership as the framework, Miguel has led an effort to bring about Healthy Businesses and Healthy Communities within these markets.

Centeno received a Master of Public Administration degree from NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Columbia University in 1991.

LISTA was founded in New York City, New York in 2000 by a group of nine technology professionals, including Jose A. Marquez-Leon, president and CEO of LISTA, who were employed at various companies and businesses throughout the city that were concerned about the lack of Latino presence and representation in the information sciences, telecommunications and technology industries and decided to do something about it.

Their objective was to form a national organization of information sciences, telecommunications and technology professionals to serve as role models in the Latino community while developing relationships to help this community reach higher goals in math, science and technology.
