Executive Biographies: James K. Foreman

National Businesses
James Foreman is Executive Vice President of National Businesses. In this role, he is responsible for running National Accounts, which includes the company's largest corporate and government customers as well as Aetna Global Benefits. In addition, he is also responsible for Aetna Dental and Medicaid. He also leads Group Insurance, which includes Life, and Aetna Disability and Leave Management Services.
Mr. Foreman has more than 25 years' experience helping large employers
define their health benefits strategies and manage health care costs. A graduate
of the Aetna Group School, he spent three years in the Los Angeles office where
he worked with large employers, such as American Honda, Farmers Group and Sony
Pictures Entertainment.
Mr. Foreman left Aetna in 1984 to join Towers Perrin. At Towers Perrin, he
led the west region Health and Welfare practice from both the Los Angeles and
San Francisco offices. Mr. Foreman had responsibility for the business in 10
offices throughout the west. He managed the Chicago consulting office from 1997
to 2000, leading a local team of cross-functional lines of business. From 2000
to 2005, he was the global managing director of Towers Perrin's Health
and Welfare line of business. Under his leadership, the business grew each year,
and Towers Perrin was considered to be a thought leader in health care. Mr.
Foreman also was a member of the Towers Perrin Board of Directors.
He received his Bachelor's degree in business-economics from the University
of California in Los Angeles, and studied international business at the University
of Melbourne in Australia. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Employer
Benefit Research Institute in Washington, D.C.
