Aetna Signs New Agreement With St. Vincent's Healthcare
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., November 14, 2007 — Aetna (NYSE: ΑET) announced today it has reached agreement on a two-year contract renewal with St. Vincent’s HealthCare, solidifying a long-term relationship with the North Florida health system.
Under the agreement, which took effect Nov. 1, members of Aetna’s commercial and Medicare HMO plans will be able to receive covered in-patient and out-patient services, at in-network rates, from St. Vincent’s Medical Center and First Coast Primary Care.
"Aetna is pleased that St. Vincent’s will continue to be an important part of our Jacksonville network," said Ruth Fricke, Aetna’s head of network operations for Florida. "This agreement enables us to continue offering our members access to a broad network of high-quality hospitals and physicians."
Aetna provides health benefits to approximately 228,000 members in North Florida. Those members have access to a contracted network of 10 hospitals and more than 2,700 primary-care and specialist physicians.

St. Vincent’s HealthCare includes St. Vincent’s Medical Center, St. Catherine Laboure’ Manor, First Coast Primary Care, Consolidated Laboratories, Advanced Patient Transportation, Seton Pharmacies and other health care services. In April 2008, St. Luke’s Hospital will join St. Vincent’s HealthCare.
