Aetna Adds UC Davis Medical Group To HMO Network in Central Valley

Addition of UC Davis doctors and Medical Center expands access for Aetna HMO members in the Central Valley

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., October 31, 2007 — Aetna (NYSE: ΑET) today announced that the UC Davis Medical Group will become a participating provider in Aetna’s Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) network in the Central Valley effective Nov. 1, 2007. Aetna members in its HMO, Aetna Open Access® and Quality Point of Service® (QPOS®) plans will be able to select a primary care physician (PCP) affiliated with the UC Davis Medical Group, and will be able to access services at UC Davis Medical Center.

"Aetna’s members with HMO-based health plans in the Sacramento area now have additional choices of physicians and enhanced access to quality health care services," said Gerald Bishop, M.D., Aetna senior medical director for its Central Valley market. "UC Davis Medical Group has been a long-standing participant in Aetna’s traditional network, and we are pleased that our HMO members now have the same access to UC Davis Medical Center and its affiliated physicians."

More than 150 primary care physicians and 450 specialist physicians are affiliated with UC Davis Medical Group, located throughout the community and on the UC Davis Medical Center campus in Sacramento.

Aetna has 5,878 participating physicians and 67 participating hospitals in its Central Valley network, and 90,944 physicians and 552 hospitals participating statewide.
