HARTFORD, Conn., June 28, 2007 — Aetna (NYSE: ΑET) announced today that Roger N. Farah, President, Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, has been appointed to Aetna’s Board of Directors, effective immediately. With the addition of Farah, 54, Aetna’s board increases to 12 members.

Farah has held his current positions with Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation since April 2000. He has had a long and distinguished career in the retailing industry, having served as chairman of Venator Group, Inc. (now Foot Locker, Inc.) from December 1994 to April 2000, and as its Chief Executive Officer from December 1994 to August 1999. He also has held top executive positions with R.H. Macy & Co. Inc.; Federated Merchandising Services, the central buying and product development arm of Federated Department Stores, Inc.; Rich’s/Goldsmith’s Department Stores; and Saks Fifth Avenue, Inc.
Farah received a B.S. degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974.
