Aetna Appoints Mark T. Bertolini And James K. Foreman Executive Vice Presidents
HARTFORD, Conn., February 3, 2006 — Aetna (NYSE: ΑET) today announced the promotions of Mark T. Bertolini, 49, and James K. Foreman, 47, to be executive vice president of Regional Businesses and executive vice president of National Businesses, respectively, effective immediately. They report to Aetna President and CEO-elect Ronald A. Williams.
Bertolini is responsible for Aetna Regional Businesses, which includes the Aetna Small and Middle Market Businesses, Retiree Markets and Individual customer market segments, Network and Provider Services, ActiveHealth Management, Behavioral Health, Business Alliances, Pharmacy, e-Health and Information and the Strategic Resource Company (SRC).
Foreman is responsible for Aetna National Businesses, which includes the National Accounts Corporate, Government and Labor, and Aetna Global Benefits customer market segments, Aetna’s Medicaid business, Health-Related Financial Solutions, Group Insurance and Dental.

Bertolini joined Aetna in March 2003 as senior vice president of Specialty Products. He previously held positions of increasing responsibility with Cigna and NYLCare and had been chief executive officer of SelectCare. Foreman joined Aetna in February 2005 as senior vice president of National Accounts and Aetna Global Benefits. Previously he was global managing director of Towers Perrin’s Health and Welfare line of business.
