HARTFORD, Conn., December 15, 2005 — Aetna (NYSE: ΑET) has appointed Patrick Scullion as president of Aetna Workers’ Comp Access® (AWCA). Scullion will lead the expansion of AWCA’s market-leading network access product for injured workers and the execution of Aetna’s strategy to develop a package of services catered specifically to the workers’ compensation industry.

Scullion has more than 22 years of health care industry experience. He joined Aetna in 2003 from First Health Group. During eight years there he served in a number of increasingly responsible roles, including vice president and controller. Prior to that he spent two years at American Pharmaceutical Company where he directed all aspects of financial activities and planning, and 10 years at Baxter International. Scullion is a certified public accountant with a degree from the University of Wisconsin.
AWCA helps injured workers, workers’ compensation insurance carriers, employers and other service providers manage the rising cost of workplace injuries and illnesses by providing access to health care professionals specializing in physical therapy, occupational medicine, chiropractic, radiology, orthopedics, behavioral health and pharmacy.
