Aetna Signs Contract with Tenet South Florida Hospitals
PLANTATION, Fla., November 25, 2002 — Aetna announced today that it has reached an agreement with a unit of Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: ΑET) that enables Aetna members to continue receiving in-network benefits for care received at Tenet's South Florida hospitals.
The agreement also adds the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, a member of Tenet's South Florida system of hospitals, to the Aetna network. Aetna expects soon to sign an agreement with Cleveland Clinic's physician group.
Under the agreement, members of Aetna's managed care plans will continue to be able to access Tenet's 15 hospitals and five diagnostic centers in the South Florida area for all covered in-patient and outpatient services.
Those hospitals are: Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Coral Gables Hospital, Delray Medical Center, Florida Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Hialeah Hospital, Hollywood Medical Center, North Ridge Medical Center, North Shore Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Palmetto General Hospital, Parkway Regional Medical Center, Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Mary's Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center.

In addition to providing care for Aetna members, Tenet is working with Aetna on a wide range of programs to help improve health care quality, and to give consumers access to the information they need to make well-informed health care decisions.
