What Are My Choices with Aetna?

Aetna offers you multiple Medicare plan choices. They include:

Aetna Golden Medicare Plan^®
A Medicare Advantage HMO Plan that coordinates your care through a network of doctors and hospitals, allowing you to get more benefits for less money than the Original Medicare Plan and many Medicare supplement plans. Medicare Advantage HMOs may also be available with Medicare prescription drug coverage.

Aetna Golden Choice™ Plan
A Medicare Advantage PPO Plan that offers all the benefits of an HMO plan, but also lets you choose doctors and hospitals outside of our network for a higher copay or coinsurance. Medicare Advantage PPOs are only available with Medicare prescription drug coverage.

Aetna Medicare Open^SM Plan
A Medicare Advantage Private Fee-For-Service (PFFS) Plan that offers all benefits of the Original Medicare Plan and more. Use any provider that accepts the plan's terms and conditions, agrees to treat you, and is eligible to receive payment from Medicare.

Aetna Medicare Special Needs Plan
A Medicare Advantage HMO or PPO plan that coordinates your care in select service areas. Our Special Needs Plans are designed to meet the specific needs of Medicare beneficiaries who are either dual eligible or residing in long-term care facilities. The Dual Eligible SNP is Aetna Golden Medicare Dual Advantage Plan. The Institutional SNP is Aetna Golden Choice Care Advantage Plan.

Aetna Medicare Rx^SM Plan
A plan that lets you add Medicare prescription drug coverage to your existing Medicare Part A and/or B coverage.

Aetna Individual Medicare Supplement Plan^SM (“Medigap”)
Policies that help pay for benefits not covered by the Original Medicare Plan, such as your Medicare Part A and B deductibles and coinsurance. NOTE: Starting in 2006, no Medigap policies will cover prescription drugs for new members.
