Say goodbye to paper claims forms. Sign up for the health care FSA streamline feature from Aetna. Streamlining automatically moves an eligible medical, dental or pharmacy claim to the Aetna's FSA system. There is no need to submit an FSA claim form.

Please refer to your employer's Summary Plan Description to determine if this is an available benefit under your employer's plan. In case of a conflict between your plan documents and the information in this website, the plan documents will govern.

 Here's how it works:

• You visit your doctor and receive medical services
• You pay your out-of-pocket expense, such as a copay and/or coinsurance, directly to your health care provider
• Your health care provider sends a claim to your medical plan for the rest of the amount owed
• When the claim is paid under your medical plan, the out-of-pocket portion is automatically submitted to your health care FSA
• Your out-of-pocket expense is then reimbursed to you by direct deposit into your bank account or by check

Streamlining claims is convenient, but you should not use the streamline option if:

• You or your dependent(s) are covered under another plan with coordination of benefits
• You are covering a domestic partner who is not your covered dependent for federal income tax purposes
• You are planning to use your health care FSA for orthodontia reimbursement
• You do not want your out-of-pocket expenses automatically submitted to your health care FSA

Enroll in streamline … it's easy

Ask your employer if the streamline option is available for your plan. You might be enrolled already. If you are not enrolled but eligible, you can sign up online. You can choose to stop your streamline election online, too.
