Health Care FSA Debit Card
Debit Card Certified & Registered Merchants

Get an Aetna health care FSA debit card, and you will get faster access to your pre-tax FSA dollars. No waiting for reimbursement. Pay for eligible health and pharmacy expenses with your card, instead of paying cash. You can even use your card to pay for eligible over-the-counter health care expenses--bandages, contact lens solution and more.

When ready to use your debit card … remember these tips:

  • You must have enough money in your FSA to cover the entire expense
  • You don't have a personal identification number (PIN), so select credit on the card reader
  • Always sign a receipt and keep your copy
  • Certified and registered locations are limited to qualified health care merchants and providers
  • You cannot use the FSA debit card to get cash from an ATM

Please refer to your employer's Summary Plan Description to determine if this is an available benefit under your employer's plan. In case of a conflict between your plan documents and the information in this website, the plan documents will govern.

Know what expenses are eligible

  • All FSA expenses must be qualified medical, vision, pharmacy or dental benefit expenses as Section 213(d) of the Internal Revenue Code defines
  • To see what health care expenses you can pay for using your debit card, please refer to your employer's Summary Plan Description

The IRS and your FSA

Save your receipts. It's important. Even when you use your debit card, the IRS requires that you retain actual receipts to document that an expense is FSA-eligible.
