Pharmacy plans: Prescription Drug Coverage

Help for saving on prescription drug costs

Available through employer provided plans only. Not available for individual purchase.

Your pharmacy benefits or insurance plan has one main goal: to help you and your family manage how much you spend on prescription drugs.

Two ways to save

  1. Generic drugs – You’ll usually pay less for generic drugs than for brand-name drugs. Generics work the same way brand-name drugs do. But they typically cost less.
  2. Mail-order pharmacies – When you order by mail through Aetna Rx Home Delivery® service, you can get up to a 90-day supply, or the maximum amount allowed by your plan.

Many times, a three-month supply of a drug bought through mail order costs the same as a two-month supply at a retail pharmacy. Three for the price of two. That’s a real saving.
