It is normal to feel depressed and scared when you're out of work due to an injury or illness. Working gave your day structure and purpose. You got to socialize with friends and acquaintances. You felt useful and productive. And there was the regular paycheck.
Now, you may be worried about paying the bills. You may not be able to return to the same job because of your restrictions. Or you may not have a job to return to. You might have a high level of pain that you are going to have to learn to live with.
With your disability, life has changed. The changes may be temporary or more permanent. There are times when you may not be able to see "the light at the end of the tunnel." You may feel more depressed, sad or confused. How you choose to cope with your disability will make the difference.
