Aetna Volunteer Council Chapters By Region
Aetna's Matching Gifts programs support employees and retirees who generously contribute their time or money to nonprofit organizations. Through its Volunteer Grants program, Aetna gives up to $300 per employee or retiree volunteer to eligible organizations where that person volunteers 20 hours or more each year. The Personal Donations matching gift program provides up to $5,000 to support an individual's donation to a qualifying nonprofit organization. Aetna also matches donations made to the annual Giving Campaign which supports the United Way, Community Health Charities, educational and other nonprofit organizations. A 'Shining Example' Aetna Employees Reaching Out -- Robert K. Goodwin, president and CEO of the Points of Light Foundation, says, "Workplace volunteering can have a profound impact on employees, communities and the long-term success of a company. Aetna is a shining example of the role that businesses can play in alleviating social problems and bringing about healthier communities." Volunteering at Aetna couldn't be easier. Time magazine noted as much when it highlighted AERO's website, My AERO Home, "which answers all volunteer-related questions, logs hours of service and matches employee volunteers with suitable nonprofits." Wrote Time, "Managers are encouraged to log on and assess how giving can help the bottom line, through new skills, for example, and motivation, as the company allows employees to customize their time donations." |
