Hartford Health Disparities Collaborative
Supporting Minority Business The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce's Side Street to Main Street Program is a workforce development initiative for minorities with entrepreneurial aspirations. Since the first graduating class in 1998, Aetna and the Aetna Foundation have contributed over $300,000 to this award-winning program. Improving Service to Connecticut Customers In 2005 Aetna opened a new state-of-the-art office in Norwalk, CT, bringing sales and account management staff closer to brokers, consultants, and Aetna's growing number of Fairfield County customers. Revitalizing Neighborhoods Aetna is among several corporations and nonprofits whose employees volunteer for Hartford's Northside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance (NINA), a collaborative devoted to rebuilding the city's historic Asylum Hill neighborhood. We worked with NINA to relocate an 1890 brick Victorian-era home into a new neighborhood to both preserve the building and create new housing. |
