Strengthening Latino Communities
As a host foundation for the Connecticut Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) Funders' Collaborative for Strong Latino Communities, Aetna helped the group build stronger partnerships between organized philanthropy and Latino communities. Our involvement helped to attract support from other major corporations.

Focusing on Urban Issues
Recently, the Urban League of Greater Hartford looked back on 40 years of social involvement with the goal of honoring a long-time corporate partner that shared its commitment and resolve. We were pleased that they chose to honor Aetna with their very first "Founders Award," paying tribute to a relationship that began in the mid-1960s.

Bringing Diverse Exhibits to Hartford
As part of its long-standing relationship with the Wadsworth Atheneum, Aetna and the Aetna Foundation recently sponsored African Art, African Voices, which exhibited about 150 diverse objects that offered a fresh look at African art. We also helped children explore other cultures through the unusual exhibit, Kid Size: The Material World of Childhood.
