Employee Volunteering in Connecticut
Infusing Education with Art Launched in 1993 with an Aetna Foundation grant, the Bushnell PARTNERS® (Partners in Arts and Education Revitalizing Schools) program draws on arts groups, artists, educators and businesses, to build literacy among 6,000 students in 17 schools throughout Connecticut. More recently, Aetna became the Bushnell’s Patron Accessibility Sponsor—supporting services that better enable those with disabilities to enjoy Bushnell events. Preserving Mark Twain's Legacy Aetna and the Aetna Foundation were proud to contribute $500,000 for the creation of an exhibit gallery in the new Education & Visitor Center as well as a major exhibit on Twain at Hartford's historic Mark Twain House. Keeping Our Downtown Vibrant Aetna has helped to attract young professionals to the downtown area through our support of the Hartford Arts Six Pack, a ticket package that offers admission to events at the Bushnell, Hartford Stage, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, TheaterWorks and the Wadsworth Atheneum. Enriching Lives through Connecticut's Arts Now in its 12th year, The Greater Hartford Arts Council’s Aetna First Thursdays, promote the cultural activities of the city and capital region each month. Featuring a variety of music, theater, exhibitions and other cultural events, these diverse arts offerings encourage visitors to enjoy Hartford’s downtown. |
