Through the '90s, Aetna's African American history calendars were theme-focused and recognized the achievements of contemporary leaders. Calendar topics over the decade included black enterprise and entrepreneurship, philanthropy, black theater, food and nutrition, medicine, science, fitness, and mentors. In the 1990 and 1991 calendars, Aetna paid tribute to two great African American leaders -- jazz musician Milt Hinton and tennis pro Arthur Ashe Jr. -- allowing them to chronicle pieces of their lives.
