Collaborating with other leading organizations where appropriate to improve outcomes in the event a pandemic:
- Aetna is an active member of the emergency management task force formed by our largest industry trade group, America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), to formulate industry plans for a pandemic, along with other widespread emergencies like hurricane response. We're also on AHIP's pandemic committee, and have joined fellow AHIP members in meeting with state and local agencies to discuss the industry's readiness activities.
- Aetna's experts are also participating in workshops and planning efforts with a range of other groups from the Connecticut Industry and Business Association to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners to do our part in helping the nation prepare for a possible pandemic.
