Scientists truly do not know - yet everyone acknowledges the need to prepare for the potential human, social and business impact of a flu pandemic.

Aetna has a longstanding commitment to business continuity planning and crisis response. As evidence of our commitment to pandemic preparedness, Aetna established a dedicated team coordinating all pandemic-related activities along with a steering committee of senior leaders reporting directly to our CEO Ron Williams. The planning team has been working with employees throughout the company who serve our members, health care professionals, plan sponsors and producers to develop policies and enhance our business continuity plans for a pandemic.
