Our Pandemic Preparations: Working collaboratively

Collaborating with other leading organizations where appropriate to improve outcomes in the event of a pandemic:

• Aetna is an active member of the emergency management task force formed by our largest industry trade group, America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), to formulate industry plans for a pandemic, along with other widespread emergencies like hurricane response. We're also on AHIP's pandemic committee, which was very active in coordinating activities during the H1N1 pandemic.
• Aetna's experts also participate in workshops and planning efforts with a range of state, local and national groups to do our part in helping the nation prepare for and respond to a pandemic.
• Aetna also is a member of the Health Care and Public Sector Coordinating Council within the National Critical Infrastructure Protection Program.
