This policy is consistent with guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. This CPB is revised to state that Aetna considers active release technique and Wurn technique/clear passage therapy experimental and investigational because there is inadequate evidence in the peer-reviewed published medical literature of their effectiveness.
