This CPB has been revised to state that (i) the use of chelation therapy is considered experimental and investigational in the treatment of "mercury toxicity" from dental amalgam fillings, and (ii) the dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) or ethylenediaminetetraacetic (EDTA) provocative chelation/mobilization test is considered experimental and investigational as a means of diagnosing lead toxicity because of insufficient evidence of its effectiveness.
