This CPB has been revised to state that breast MRI alone may be used to screen women with silicone gel-filled breast implants for silent intracapsular rupture. Screening for silent intracapsular rupture more frequently than every two years is not considered medically necessary. These policy revisions are supported by FDA approved labeling of silicone gel-filled breast implants.
