Travel Assistance Program

The AXA Assistance program provides you with access to the following services. You get access to these 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year.

Note: All travel assistance services must be provided for and arranged by AXA Assistance. The coverage includes: 

  • Medical and dental referrals: Access to a worldwide network of primary care physicians, dentists, clinics and hospitals.
  • Coordinated hospital admissions: Help coordinate pre-admission certification for surgeries. AXA Assistance will assist in the coordination of your admission by working with your health carrier to determine coverage and/or advance funds.
  • Critical care monitoring: During your hospitalization, AXA Assistance will remain in regular communication with the treating facility. This is to help you receive the proper care.
  • Medical evacuation: If you need medical assistance to return home, AXA Assistance will determine the best transportation method. They will assist with necessary travel arrangements based on your medical condition.
  • Transportation to join a patient: AXA Assistance will provide round-trip common carrier transportation to your hospital.  This is for the selected family member or companion. It is provided if you are traveling alone. Also provided if you are expected to be in a hospital for more than seven days.
  • Return of dependent children: If a minor child is left alone as a result of an accident or illness, AXA Assistance will provide transportation to return the child home.  If needed, the child will be with an assistant.
  • Return of mortal remains: AXA Assistance will help arrange for the transportation and offer reasonable assistance in legal requirements for returning the mortal remains.
  • Vehicle return services: If you need to be medically sent home, AXA Assistance will coordinate and manage the return of your unattended vehicle to your home.
  • Transportation of travel companion: If you need to be evacuated or sent home, AXA Assistance will assist in arrangements for a family member to join you.
  • Dispatch of physician: If AXA Assistance cannot adequately address the need for medical transportation or evacuation needs, AXA Assistance will send a physician to your location to review your needs.
  • Replacement of prescription medication: If you forget or lose a prescription medication, AXA Assistance will assist with replacement medication.
  • Lost document and article assistance: AXA Assistance will help to replace or forward copies of lost or stolen documents. This could be your passport, license and credit cards. Plus, they will help you with reporting the loss. They can also help find lost items like your luggage.
  • Pet housing and return: AXA Assistance can help with finding pet friendly hotels, boarding facilities and travel home arrangements for your pet.
  • Urgent message relay: AXA Assistance will relay important messages for you.
  • Emergency cash and bail assistance: If your wallet is lost or stolen, AXA Assistance can help with an emergency cash advance.  They can also assist in obtaining a bail bondsman where applicable.
  • Legal referrals: AXA Assistance will provide referrals to an interpreter so you can discuss your legal issues. You also get access to referrals for legal personnel as necessary.
  • Arrangements for political evacuations: AXA Assistance can arrange for the return of a  person who is located in a country where their home country government has ordered an evacuation.
  • General travel information: Before you travel, you can obtain information about visa’s, passports, immunization requirements and local customs. Plus get access to 24-hour pre-departure information such as weather, currency or holidays.
