Mental Health Specialists

Mental health specialists in Aetna Depression Management include both consultants and clinicians.

As part of Aetna Depression Management, a psychiatrist* is available for consultation.  This consultant helps you determine treatment options based on the patient’s Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) score, response to treatment and treatment compliance. The psychiatric consultant provides expertise as needed to ensure successful treatment of your patients.

Your patient may engage a psychiatrist or clinician locally for psychological counseling.  The care planner will share the patient’s monthly PHQ-9 scores and treatment compliance with the clinician.  You can then collaborate with the clinician as needed on the treatment and progress of your patient.
