Aetna University

You will be immersed in all aspects of our Human Resources function, consult with business leaders and participate in the development and execution of HR strategy. Upon completion of the program, new consultants will be placed in full-time human resources roles.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Grow and sharpen general management, recruiting, talent development, organizational design, strategic, and operational skills
  • Translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Refine interpersonal and people management skills

What you need to apply:

  • Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (all majors are considered)
  • Sharp problem-solving skills
  • A results-oriented track record
  • Solid leadership experience
  • A passion for learning, consulting and helping people
  • Highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Keen business sense with strong academic records


Get the experience, training and support you need to become a financial engineer at Aetna through our Actuarial Program.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Manage risk
  • Design and price new products
  • Adjust current products’ pricing

What you need to apply:

  • 3.0 GPA or higher with a focus in actuary, mathematics or statistics
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Desire to lead

  • Paid exam fees and professional society dues


You’ll work directly with our different business areas and corporate groups to help us meet our financial responsibilities.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Support company growth
  • Manage costs
  • Forecast and manage assets

What you need to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, math or other related field
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Computer skills, especially using Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to be a self-starter, as well as work with a team

Information Technology

You’ll learn specialized technical skills to keep us connected to the marketplace, as well as best-in-class solutions to give our members a user-friendly online experience.

What you need to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems, engineering, business-related disciplines or the sciences
  • 3.3 GPA or higher
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Previous intern or co-op experience is a plus

Consumer Business

The focus of Consumer Business is on providing a personalized end-to-end consumer experience.

The development program provides the opportunity to experience a variety of roles and develop a strong foundation in the business.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Message Aetna’s brand across our business and in the community
  • Participate in research efforts to understand consumer needs that will drive and support strategy, as well as to assess the results of our communication and marketing efforts
  • Write in simple yet powerful language
  • Gain transferable skills in project coordination and project management
  • Understand the production lifecycle, including the importance of key steps (such as legal, compliance, design, and quality reviews)

What you’ll need to apply:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree -- a business focus (marketing, economics, psychology, etc.) is preferred
  • Long-term career goals within Aetna’s Consumer Business teams
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in the professional field or 2 previous intern/co-op work experiences in the profession
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, as well as analytical, team, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A self-starter attitude and the ability to take initiative and look for opportunities in all assignments while still working toward goals
  • Proficiency in MS Office 2010

Sales Development

In sales, our goal is to meet customer needs, while helping people make better decisions about their health and health care spending.

You provide the aptitude and passion, and we'll provide the opportunity to excel. You can start working on your career as a sales professional once enrolled in our program at E.E. Cammack Group School.
