CDO Vision

Employee diversity is our best resource for change

Our chief diversity officer (CDO) shares her belief about why employee diversity is key to our success.

Message from Grace Figueredo, chief diversity officer

I am privileged to lead the Workplace Culture and Diversity & Inclusion effort at Aetna. Both  are fundamental components of our business, and have been for a long time.

This is exciting time to be a part of our industry and more importantly, to be a part of our company. The opportunity that lies ahead in transforming health care will improve people’s lives. Our vision is to build a healthier world. To achieve it, we recognize we must realize the full potential of all of our employees around the globe each and every day.

Each of the more than 47,000 individuals across our company has a unique story. Our ability to leverage their ideas, life experiences, and perspectives will be key to evolving the future of our business and the health care system. We believe that when employees are respected, appreciated, and valued for who they are, and the talent they bring, our business outcomes are much stronger.

At Aetna, Diversity & Inclusion is about connecting talent to our business. By accessing a larger talent pool and a deeper knowledge bank, we gain a strategic competitive advantage. To further our vison and collective purpose, we continuously seek to attract, retain and develop high-performing, collaborative professionals to contribute to achieving our vision. Through a focused Diversity & Inclusion strategy, we will enable success for decades to come.
