Kristi A. Matus

Photograph of Kristi A. Matus Kristi A. Matus is Executive Vice President of Aetna Government Services, a new business segment composed of Aetna’s Medicare, Medicaid, Public & Labor, and Federal Employee Health Program businesses.

As head of the Government Services organization, Ms. Matus spearheads Aetna’s commitment to helping governments find solutions to their growing health care liabilities. Aetna is uniquely equipped to meet the needs of government customers, and Ms. Matus is driving the expansion of Aetna’s Medicare and Medicaid businesses. She reports to Chairman, CEO and President Mark T. Bertolini as a member of the Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Aetna, Ms. Matus most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of USAA. She has held a variety of senior leadership roles at USAA, including President of USAA Life Insurance and Investment Company and Vice President of Life Solutions for the USAA Life Insurance Company. Previously she was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Thrivent Financial Bank in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Ms. Matus was named one of Treasury & Risk’s 2011 Top 100 Most Influential People in Finance. She is a fellow in the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Ms. Matus graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a major in applied mathematics and a minor in business administration.
