We also have extraordinary programs for recent college graduates and current students. These include the Aetna Information Services Leadership Development Program, as well as our Summer Internship Program.

Leadership Development Program
Our Leadership Development Program is a fast-track rotational program that will give you the opportunity to develop your technical, business and leadership skills. This program can be the ideal way for you to accelerate your professional growth. It’s much more than just a job – it’s a potential career path.

During the program, you’ll rotate through a series of challenging projects and technical assignments within Aetna Information Services – and other Aetna business areas in our Pennsylvania and Connecticut offices. These assignments last approximately eight months each. Most participants complete the program in a 3-year timeframe.

Your rotational stops may include assignments in the following disciplines:

  • Infrastructure and Networking
  • Application Development
  • IT Architecture
  • Software Testing
  • Database Management
  • Project Management
  • Strategic Planning

This program will give you opportunities to deliver real business results. Plus, you’ll be trained, coached and evaluated to help you achieve optimum performance. At the end of our program, successful participants will have the opportunity to explore various open positions within Aetna Information Services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in computer science or management information systems, engineering, business-related disciplines or the sciences
  • 3.3 + GPA Preferred
  • Demonstrated strong communication, analytical, team, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Previous intern/co-op work experience preferred

Summer Internship Program
Through this program, you can learn first-hand what it takes to lead and succeed in an industry that thrives on change. And by working with Aetna management, you’ll develop skills that can lead to full-time opportunities in the years to come.

At Aetna, we have created an internship program that is unique in our industry. Aetna Information Services undergraduate interns use their talents to learn by doing real work in a highly technical business environment. During your internship, you’ll get practical experience working with various business areas throughout the company. Our internships give you the opportunity to formally integrate your academic knowledge with real-life experience. And you can explore your career interests through productive and exciting work assignments.

Our Summer Internship Program typically runs for 10 to 12 weeks, beginning in late May and ending in mid-August. Internships often are available in the following disciplines:

  • Software Testing
  • Application Development
  • Project Support
  • Database Management
  • IT Architecture
  • User and Infrastructure Support
  • Networking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in computer science or management information systems, engineering, business-related disciplines or the sciences
  • Completion of 45 semester hours
  • 3.0 + GPA
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
