Aetna as a company really takes their clients’ needs into consideration, brings that integrity into the market.

George Koury :

Whenever we have a problem, they stand behind us and they fix the problem. Anybody can sell you a product, but if they’re not there to warranty that product, then that’s not integrity.

Angie Koury Lieb :

Aetna Avenue is a whole slew of really great products that we can go and present to our clients that are a good example of the innovation that Aetna brings to the market.

George Koury :

It allows them to get their dental and life and disability under one billing package, which makes their life a lot easier.

And that in turn increases our sales. Love it when our sales increase. Puts a big smile on my face!

Our ability to create value for customers and members begins with the innovative benefit plans we offer. Keeping our customers at the center of what we do naturally leads us to develop products that meet their unique needs.

This is especially true with small, community-based business owners. In 2009, we launched the Aetna Avenue® platform that integrates benefits and tools for groups with 1-50 employees to better meet their needs. An innovative platform, Aetna Avenue gives brokers such as George Koury another option in reaching small employers who traditionally have been unable to afford insurance for their employees. In fact, 45 percent of members in our targeted growth markets work for employers who previously had not offered health insurance.

Our diversified products position us well for a changing benefits landscape, even in a post-health care reform environment. In addition to helping us better serve millions of individuals and small group members, our targeted acquisition strategy has enabled us to meet the needs of nontraditional populations, including Medicaid members, students and expatriates. And, our acquisition of Horizon Behavioral Services, LLC in 2009 provides us with expanded capabilities for offering broader mental health and wellness programs to address the needs of that increasing market.

Understanding and anticipating customers’ needs continue to drive us toward developing products that best serve them and lay the foundation for the next generation of health care benefits.
